Why families choose MAP-Practice

Practice should do more than keep a student busy. It should show them what to work on next.

  • Targeted by grade and subject. Focus on the skills most relevant to the student.
  • AI Tutor-style teaching feedback. After students answer, a guided explanation breaks down the reasoning while the question is still fresh.
  • MAP-style familiarity. Build comfort with reasoning-focused question formats before test day.
  • Progress with purpose. Use an unofficial practice RIT estimate and repeated practice to make improvement easier to understand.

The goal is not memorization—it is identifying weak areas, correcting mistakes, and building stronger reasoning over time.

Important: These are illustrative examples, not measured customer outcomes or guaranteed MAP Growth score gains. Actual results vary by student, practice frequency, instruction, test conditions, and other factors.

✦ Smarter learning support

Meet the AI Tutor-style guide that teaches after the answer.

MAP-Practice does more than mark an answer right or wrong. After a student responds, the Tutor guide can break the question into clear reasoning steps, explain the key idea, and show why the correct answer works—so mistakes become learning opportunities.

🧭

Shows where to start

Students get a simple first step instead of staring at a solution they do not understand.

🧠

Explains the reasoning

The tutor highlights the key idea or evidence used to solve the question.

💡

Turns errors into practice

Students can immediately learn from a mistake before moving to the next adaptive question.

Example: Instead of only showing “Correct answer: B,” the Tutor guide explains what clue, rule, calculation, or scientific evidence leads to B.

MAP Test Guide

What is the MAP Growth test and how does it work?

MAP Growth is a computer-adaptive assessment used by many schools to measure a student’s current achievement and academic growth over time. As a student answers questions, the difficulty adjusts to better estimate what the student is ready to learn next. MAP results are reported on the RIT scale, which helps families and schools compare growth across testing seasons and grade levels. MAP-Practice provides independent MAP test preparation with free sample questions and grade-level practice for Grade 2 to Grade 8.

1

Adaptive questions

Question difficulty changes in response to student performance, helping the assessment estimate achievement above, at, or below grade level.

2

RIT score

The RIT score is not a percentage. It is a scale score designed to show achievement and growth over time within a subject.

3

Growth over time

Schools can compare fall, winter, and spring performance to understand progress and set learning goals.

Built for Focused Practice
